FAQ
Class Descriptions and FAQ’s
These classes are specifically designed to accommodate and encourage complete novices to Yoga. They are also suitable for a practitioner at any level to refresh the fundamentals. In this class you will be taught gentle stretching exercises to awaken the spine, loosen up the joints and lubricate stiff areas simply by using targeted breathing techniques. The aim here is to promote flexibility, strength, stability and wellbeing. Our aim is to have you leave class rejuvenated and refreshed and feeling as if you’ve worked hard without suffering.
Intermediate
We have separated the intermediate levels into two for your convenience. The regular Intermediate class will not include too much vigorous exercise, but will begin to teach movement and breath collaboration (vinyasa) this class includes further more refined and challenging variations. This includes inversions and arm balancing which will build more strength, flexibility and a create a greater connection between mind and body. Moving to this level will promote a positive and confident attitude.
Intermediate/Vinyasa
This level now begins to get the juices flowing. One pose begins to flow into another, the practice becomes fluid. This is where prior knowledge is a must in preparation for precision focus. A vinyasa practise is based around sun salutations, and so begins to increase the heart rate. This is no ordinary cardio workout, this is intelligent exercise. All the poses learned come together. The benefits to the internal organs begin to encourage a healthy looking exterior.
Advanced
Don’t allow this level to have your mind think you have reached a goal! Yoga is a fantastic, perpetual journey of discovery. Vinyasa flow will usually be practiced. Be prepared to expand the limits of the body through deeper backbends, and more challenging inversions, arm balances and twists.
Please choose a class that best suits your ability at the time. Listen to your body. If it hurts NEVER go further. If you think you may be pregnant (in the first trimester is not advisable) or have had any surgery or internal complications then please seek medical advice before attending any class.
